FINE CHAOS Unveils their 8th collection for FW25 – ATARAXIS

Back in 2020, in the early days of what I have come to call simply “The Pandemic”, I went out one day dressed like a character straight out of the post-apocalyptic franchise, Mad Max. In recent weeks, I had a look at some of my photos from that day, and I have to admit, I wasn’t impressed. However, I think I can forgive myself for the fashion faux pas since I, like many others that year, thought it was the end of civilization as we know it. In my opinion, when the world is ending, I think it’s as important to look fabulous as it is to survive the rigors of societal decay. The designers of the Danish fashion brand FINE CHAOS (founded by Creative Director Marc C. Møllerskov) understand this apparently. Their Fall/Winter 2025 collection rises to the occasion with ATARAXIS. It’s a word of Greek origin that translates as “peace of mind”. The collection was shown at this year’s Copenhagen Fashion Week.

You may be asking yourself, how can one find peace of mind when everything has fallen to ruin? When one finds oneself in the midst of disaster, it is incumbent upon the individual to center themselves and not panic. The restful mind allows us to do just that. Yes, you will certainly require the appropriate haberdashery to protect yourself from the elements, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t do it in style. ATARAXIS continues its tradition of storytelling through fashion, the designs of each article tell a story of humanity’s will to not succumb to despair. Its colors and fabrics encapsulate an aesthetic branded with hope and resilience. Rather than focus on the devastation of our future, it brings to light our capacity for building anew; returning the light to the darkest recesses of a fallen civilization. This is the promise of FINE CHAOS.
